The Social Committee organises a wide range of social activities throughout the year, such as:
May – We usually hold a Quiz Night to mark Rickmansworth Week
June – Look out for our themed dinner in early summer
September – We celebrate our Patronal Festival (birthday)
October – A delicious Harvest celebration is usually held early in the month
Look out too for a variety of one-off outings such as walks and visits to places of interest, not necessarily with a church connection. These are usually advertised in the weekly pew sheet and in Link.
We also frequent concerts of sacred and classical music in the church and, occasionally, St Mary’s organises pilgrimages (the last was to Turkey and in 2010 a group will be going to the Passion Play at Oberammergau), or weekends away.
Please contact Geoff Hall on 01923 720543 for more information about the work of the Social Committee and up and coming social events.

Our Catering Committee provides delicious home-made catering for some of the church’s main social events of the year. If you have a special event which is linked to the church and requires catering, please get in touch and see if the committee can help. The Catering Committee does not do the catering for Coffee After Church or Sunday Lunch Club. |

Coffee, biscuits and juice are served after every Sunday 10am service in the Church Centre where members of the congregation can meet and chat. Teams of volunteers take it in turns to lay out the biscuits (and, sometimes, cakes!), prepare and serve the refreshments, clear away and lock-up afterwards. This used to be called 'Parish Breakfast' and you may still hear people refer to this social gathering as such. The kitchen is well stocked and even has a super-fast dishwasher to keep on top of the washing up! More volunteers are always needed! |

There are quite a few golf courses in the parish and, every so often, we get together for a Golf Day, challenging neighbouring churches - and even winning! It's very informal and lots of fun, usually with a meal in the evening. |

Once a year we hold the Gramble - people who are less mobile are taken out for a picnic at a local beauty spot - weather permitting! |

Some of our older parishioners enjoy meeting on the first Thursday of each month for tea, a talk and a chat at various venues. We provide a 'pick up' service and always need more people to volunteer to help as drivers. |

From time to time, we put on pantomimes and other dramatic productions - oh yes we do!!! These usually involve lots of people of all ages and are always good fun, both to rehearse and perform. |

For our older members, we hold a Lunch Club on the second Sunday of every month in the Church Centre. New visitors and more people to help with the catering are always welcome. |
