Patronal Festival Weekend 2011

As in previous years, our celebration of the saint to whom our church is dedicated, Mary, takes place on the second weekend of September (near 8th September, The Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary).

Saturday 10th September: Parish Day Pilgrimage to Southwark Cathedral

This is an opportunity to travel together to Southwark Cathedral and worship together in another place - sharing our faith and learning from others, as well as learning of the work God is doing in other parts of the Church.

10.28am

Tube from Rickmansworth to London Bridge, then proceed to Southwark Cathedral (approx 10 mins walk)

12 noon

Informal concert given by the Bergen Cathedral Choir. Southwark Cathedral is twinned ecumenically with Bergen Cathedral in Norway.

1.00pm

Free time / lunch and time to visit the Cathedral shop.

2.15pm

Guided tour of the Cathedral

3.45pm

Free time / comfort break

4.00pm

Evening Prayer

4.30pm

There will be a charge of £4.50 for the tour. Please sign up on the sheets at the back of church if you would like to go. We do need to know numbers in advance in order to book the tour in advance.

Sunday 11th September: Patronal Festival Day

We shall have one service in the morning at 10.00am where readings and hymns will give an opportunity to reflect on Mary. In additional we shall have a 'Bring & Share' lunch at the Vicarage (if it is wet, this will be in the Church Centre).
