On the memorial above you that is dedicated to Thomas Fellows you will see an anchor depicted.
The anchor is one of the earliest Christian symbols and was used as a secret sign of belonging to the faith during times of Roman persecution.
The anchor represents, steadfast hope, safety, trust and firm faith.
You are invited to consider what are the anchors that bring you stability in your own life?
What brings you a sense of safety and strength?
What, or who do you really trust in and rely on in life?
Perhaps you can thank God for these things.
If you feel a little adrift at the moment, or you are low on hope, you might want to say this prayer, asking for God’s help.
Loving God, as I consider my life here in your presence,
Help me to know and to trust that you are always with me
And that you hold me fast through the storms in life.
Guide me in the way that brings fullness of life!
Help me to set my heart on your love, and to know you are my anchor.
