Geoff Hall RIP
It is with much sadness that we announce the recent death of Geoff Hall, husband of Sue and affectionately known at St Mary’s as ‘big Geoff’, to avoid confusion with the other Geoff Hall in the congregation.
Although Geoff wasn’t a habitual church goer, he was known to everyone at St Mary’s to which he contributed greatly. If there was a barbecue to be fired up, Geoff was always the first to volunteer to run it. If there were fireworks to be lit, Geoff would be the first one there with his box of matches. If there was any plumbing to be sorted out, a shout would go up – ‘call Geoff, the big one’!
Geoff’s unwavering support for St Mary’s came from his support for his wife, Sue, who was hugely involved in St Mary’s events, fundraising and activities for which Geoff was ‘volunteered’. He also contributed to the life of St Mary’s School which was attended by his three daughters, Rebecca, Tamsin and Nicole.
Sue and Geoff moved from Rickmansworth to Sarratt and subsequently to Dorset where they quickly became involved in their local community – no surprise to anyone who knew them!
Geoff was diagnosed with motor neurone disease a couple of years ago which was a huge blow for such an active man.
We send our love, condolences and prayers to Sue, Rebecca, Tamsin and Nicole and all those who knew and loved Geoff on the loss of such a special man.
We will post details of Geoff’s funeral here once we have them.
