Come and enjoy music at St Mary's

Our lovely Victorian church building provides a wonderful venue for making and enjoying music of all genres.

We are planning all sorts of music-based events and do hope you’ll join us.

We also welcome enquiries from individuals and groups who would like to bring their music to St Mary’s. Get in touch with the Church Office to find out more.

After a bit of a break, we are re-forming our choir. We’re starting with adults and hope to be able to extend membership to young people in due course.

Each Sunday (except the 3rd Sunday) we have a brief run through of the day’s hymns at 9:30 before the service. All adult singers are welcome to join in the rehearsal around the piano at the front of the church to find out more and experience singing with the choir. There are no auditions, and singers of all abilities are welcome. You do not have to be able to read music, just have an enthusiasm to sing!

Monthly anthems

We’re looking to expand the choir’s repertoire by singing an anthem on the first Sunday of each month with a short practice session, usually at 7.00pm on the previous Thursday.

If you enjoy choral singing, particularly if you have a bit of experience, please consider joining us for our monthly anthems. You will be very welcome.

Coming up:

Sunday 5 October Lead me Lord by Samuel Sebastian Wesley
Practice on Monday 29 September at 7.00pm
Listen to the anthem
Sunday 2 November Practice on 30 October at 7.00pm
Sunday 7 December Practice on 4 December at 7.00pm
For more information, please get in touch with our Director of Music, Sean Frost or ask any member of the choir prior to the service each Sunday.

We’re holding some fun, singalong sessions for all ages.
